Craftsman from Oxbow Bronze foundry are seen erecting and welding the nine hand-crafted bronze geese that will be the focal point of the dramatic entry to WatersEdge at 158th and Mission Rd. The geese that symbolize the focus of this community on water were scultped by world renown artist Kuan Wu. He is well known for his bronze sculptures at the Negro League Baseball Museum, entry to the U.S. Courthouse, part of the White House permanent collection and numerous other commissions both here and in his native home in Bejing.
The geese are twice life size and weigh approximately 300 pounds each. When completed in mid-September they will be dramatically flying out of a spray of water from the disappearing edge pond eastward over the other 4 lakes, fountains and waterfalls that will blend into the Goose Pond to give an illusion when driving down MIssion Road of a lake over a 1 mile wide.
